I'm almost certain that everyone has had a "lollipop" moment in their lives. Either you gave your lollipop away or you received one. What am I talking about?
Watch this video first and check out what this "lollipop moment" is all about and then continue reading.
So you watched the video and what did you think? Do you remember having a moment like this in your life so far? The truth is, we are encountered with these kinds of moments every day and most of the time, we don't take advantage of them. Our biggest mistake is that we allow our way of thinking that being a leader is something more than what we can do. But the truth is, it's not! Being a leader is believing that you can have a great impact on people even when the gesture is super small. Let's stop thinking of leadership as this grandiose thing, and instead, let's focus on how leadership is more of a daily thing.
What I learned most about this video is that we all have the power to do something great even if it's something tiny like saying hello or asking someone how they are doing that day. These are small moments in time where in the end make a difference in someone else's life. So, why not be a leader in this small way?
If you're wondering what my lollipop moment is, I've had plenty of them in my life, mostly from my teachers and closest friends. I'm happy to have received them and I also have given them away. I see it a lot when I help students make decisions for their future. I thrive in these small moments when I know what I'm doing is making a difference is someone's life.
If you haven't had such a moment, what are you waiting for? Get your own "bucket of lollipops" and don't be afraid to pass them out.
Thanks again for reading,
Mayra :)
