We've Been Here Before

I got into an interesting conversation with a new friend of mine about what I truly believe happens after death. Although speaking of death might seem like a scary topic to discuss, it is the one for sure thing that we will all experience sooner or later. Only God truly knows when the day and time will come.  Before this post goes downward and very depressive, I wanted to share with you my thoughts about what I strongly believe truly happens in life.

I strongly believe that we all have had the privilege of being on Earth multiple times throughout this time since humans roamed the Earth.  I believe that we come back multiple times in different eras, in different parts of the world, speaking different languages.  Our bodies change, but our essence of our souls have been around for a long time.

MyThoughts

Why do I believe this? I've given it some thought and here is my evidence for this belief.

1. Have you ever learned something in school or out somewhere in the world, and it comes very easily to you, while your peers struggle with the material?  In my personal life, learning French in high school came super easy for me.  Did I speak French in a former life?

2. How do you explain someone who has an old soul? Majority of the time, young people before reaching the adult stage, might act way more mature than their peers, they are wiser and ask adult style questions that go beyond a normal child's comprehension.  Wouldn't this also be an example that this child has been here before?

3. What about the times when you met someone in school, work, or somewhere where you normally visit, and this person feels like more than a friend to you?  As if this person could be your brother or sister in a past life? You start introducing them as your "godsister" or "godbrother" or possibly, you met an older lady or gentleman who you consider like family or a parent or grandparent figure?  It could possibly be that in your past life, these people's souls were kept in other bodies where your soul was also present during the same era and you were actually family during those times.

4. What about times when you experience a Deja vu? We've all had that moment when something is happening in front of our eyes and you have the strongest feeling that you've passed this moment in your life once before.  Even the literal meaning of the word translates "to have seen again."

5. How about the times when you get extremely strong gut feelings about situations or people that you come across and never experienced before?  Could it be that these gut instincts are our way of proving that we've encountered a similar situation in a past life that now our current lives have to be warned about?

I'm sure there are other reasons to believe this but these are the examples I came up with.  Or, it could most likely be that things happen for no actual reason and we live our lives once on this Earth.  What do you think?

Thanks for reading,
Mayra :)

New Year's Eve Hispanic Traditions

I seriously believe that every culture has some very interesting ways of welcoming the New Year.  I grew up in a Mexican household in the United States, so I got the best of both worlds. I do have to say, that we have some every fun and creative ways to welcome the New Year:

Seeing the light

I'm sure you've heard of stories about other people having near death experiences they encounter when they find themselves in very dangerous situations.  I was watching a program as part of the Super Soul Sunday series of comedian Tracy Morgan talk about the accident that almost took his life about a year and half ago which happened on his drive home after doing a comedy show.  He talks about seeing his deceased father coming to him and telling him that he wasn't ready for him yet.  It made me think of my near death experience I had in high school.

Unanswered Prayers: Explained

When I was younger and naive, I used to pray a lot for the things I wanted and needed in my life.  A few years ago, I met a guy from an online dating site who I was certain he was the one for me. Over the years, I never truly understood why God didn't answer my prayers -- until now. It was very apparent to me that as this guy and I both grew up and live completely different lives; I noticed an overarching theme in his life where in the end, he has no inner peace in his life.  The drama in his life is still there as it was when I first met him many years ago but appear to be present in different ways.
