Quick recap of 2021

It's been a super long time since I've last been here but I will say that 2021 has changed my life for the better.  After a painful 2019 and surviving 2020, I can say that 2021 was the year of bloom, growth, and happiness.  We're in November but here's a quick recap of this year so far:

1. I manifested on January 1st that I wanted to fall in love again and three weeks later, I met a wonderful man and we hit it off!

2. On February 14th, he asked me to be his girlfriend and I graciously accepted. I was very thrilled that he asked me.

3. In July, I applied for a different job and in August, I was offered a school counseling position at a different school district.

4. On September 5th, my boyfriend asked me to marry him.  I'm engaged!

5. I started my new job on October 25th and let me tell you, I've been non-stop.  Every day is something new and I'm starting to form connections with students and staff.

Every day that passes by, I feel more and more like myself and I'm happy about where things in my life are going. And I can't wait to see what life has in store for me in the future.

I hope you will join me for the ride.  I plan on writing more and updating this blog more often.

Thanks,

Mayra

New Year's Eve Hispanic Traditions

I seriously believe that every culture has some very interesting ways of welcoming the New Year.  I grew up in a Mexican household in the United States, so I got the best of both worlds. I do have to say, that we have some every fun and creative ways to welcome the New Year:

Seeing the light

I'm sure you've heard of stories about other people having near death experiences they encounter when they find themselves in very dangerous situations.  I was watching a program as part of the Super Soul Sunday series of comedian Tracy Morgan talk about the accident that almost took his life about a year and half ago which happened on his drive home after doing a comedy show.  He talks about seeing his deceased father coming to him and telling him that he wasn't ready for him yet.  It made me think of my near death experience I had in high school.

Unanswered Prayers: Explained

When I was younger and naive, I used to pray a lot for the things I wanted and needed in my life.  A few years ago, I met a guy from an online dating site who I was certain he was the one for me. Over the years, I never truly understood why God didn't answer my prayers -- until now. It was very apparent to me that as this guy and I both grew up and live completely different lives; I noticed an overarching theme in his life where in the end, he has no inner peace in his life.  The drama in his life is still there as it was when I first met him many years ago but appear to be present in different ways.
