I will tell you now... ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR INTUITION! There's a reason why we have it. So please follow it. Your intuition is the little voice in your head that warns when something isn't right. It's your gut feeling. It's when you find something strange and your body reacts to it by having the little hairs on the back of your neck or arms stand up. I am certain that we have it for safety reasons.
Growing up, this gut feeling grows stronger and louder. It normally kicks in when you meet someone new or you're in a new place you've never been to before. I had it most activated when I started dating but every once in a while, my gut feeling will talk to me and send me a little warning.
There are many reasons why people choose to ignore their intuition:
I remember watching Oprah Winfrey explain about intuition being described as little whispers. I got it the first time I saw it! I had a whisper loud and clear one day last April. I was driving to work which is only a ten-minute commute. I normally follow the same route: get on the freeway and take the first exit to make a left towards my work place. This particular morning, I let a female driver cut in front of me right before we both exited the freeway. Our light was red to make a left turn. The light turned green a few seconds after we had arrived at the intersection to make a left turn and out of nowhere a pick-up truck heading down the crossing way, ran the red light and hit the car in front of me. It was a hard crash that made the car in front of me spin towards one corner and the hitter had spun to the opposite side of the street. Quickly, several motorists reached the two drivers and called for help. I remember feeling in awe of what I had witnessed before me. If I hadn't let that driver go ahead of me, I would have been hit that morning.
Another example I want to share is the moment when I chose not to listen to my intuition. I was driving home from my night class in October when I decided to go to the bank to withdrawal some cash from the ATM. It was already dark but the bank entrance and ATM area were well lit. As I was driving towards the ATM, I noticed an older guy in his 40s or early 50s wearing a baseball cap and smoking a cigarette outside his pick-up truck. Right away, I got that feeling that it was strange and out of place. I questioned it in my head to why the man was just hanging out there by himself. But since the guy was over 40 feet away and there was another gentleman using the other ATM, my need for cash was greater than what I was experiencing at that moment. I quickly parked, got out of my car, and withdrew some money. I jumped back in my car and quickly locked my doors and left the bank area and headed home. That same weekend, I checked my bank account online and sure enough, my debit account had been stolen and strange charges appeared on my account. One of them being from a tobacco place! I was so mad at myself. I should have listened to my gut feeling. That intuition was telling me that something wasn't right. I should have waited until the next day to withdraw money from the bank I normally visit.
I will tell you that I have learned my lesson. Trust yourself, and listen to what life whispers to you each and every day. Because in the end, it doesn't matter what others think about you, it could be the difference between life and death.

Listen to your life's little whispers.

There are many reasons why people choose to ignore their intuition:
- Women don't want to appear weak to others
- We dismiss the thoughts as being exaggerated
- We want people to like us
